Glory Shout! Look what God has done!
From the beginning of TVMI (The Virginia Marriage Initiative), God is working and we are doing His work to restore and redeem marriages all over Virginia.
We started locally in Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield, but the spark was fanned into flame through events like Weekend to Remember in Williamsburg and Norfolk and the amazing volunteer teams who continue to invite and work with couples all around Virginia.
Many couples attended an event want to know more about investing in their own marriages or being a Marriage on Mission to others around them.
National Marriage Week and The Virginia Marriage Challenge were additional catalysts to bring attention to what God intended marriage to be. Gods plan is for oneness and not isolation.
Many couples have been drifting toward isolation, and some didn’t even realize they were. This is where The Virginia Marriage Initiative, a movement of marriage champions, churches, and community members have stepped in to bridge the gap!
February was amazing, due in part to the work that happened in December & January. These two months were filled with an amazing team of volunteers who followed up with and encouraged couples to become a ‘marriage on mission’. These couples have started to connect with others and share the message of hope and encouragement for married, dating, and engaged couples around Virginia.
A January roundtable event inspired over 80 people to start, continue, or re-energize their work with marriages in the Richmond and Northern Virginia areas using the #VAmarriagechallenge.
A Meta campaign helped create awareness and encouraged people to take the VA Marriage Challenge; find a community event or group on the map, take an online couple checkup, or be intentional in dating your spouse with fun ideas to try. This campaign reached over 1.8 million people and brought people to us through direct messaging or email and to the roundtable too. The flame keeps growing.
February 6-7, we supported an Art of Marriage event in Fredericksburg with over 350 people in attendance and was followed up with a gathering of people looking to take additional steps towards marriages in their space.
Over 500 daily visits to the event map are inspiring couples to keep investing and looking for ways to keep their marriage strong. #VAmarriagechallenge
Approximately 350 more people signed up to receive our newsletter.
Over 60 churches & marriage champions in different areas of Virginia are offering small groups that meet in person and virtually.
Training opportunities are available to learn how to facilitate a group or become a mentor or coach so others can work with couples in a deep and meaningful way.
So, what will you do for your marriage or those around you looking for role models, encouragers, prayer partners, and support systems for strong marriages, families, and communities?
